Energy Dispersive X-ray microanalysis (EDS)

Both of our Energy Dispersive X-ray Microanalysis Systems (EDS) have liquid nitrogen free detectors. They allow for elemental analysis of various materials down to the lightest elements such as boron. The technique is indispensable for elemental analysis of various types of inorganic (metals, ceramics, composites), as well as some organic-based materials. It is capable of not just simply identifying each chemical element, but also can potentially establish the percentage of each of the elements in an unknown material

Analysis by EDX represents a useful complementary technique to Scanning Electron Microscopy imaging (SEM), as well as to Fourier-Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR
